In-line skating is a sport which has really taken off in the last few years as an alternative to ice skating. Being able to do this sport without the need for a frozen surface has greatly increased both its popularity and the number of federated sportsmen and women. Canfranc has the only covered in-line skating rink in Aragon. It is a modern, yet simple, facility with all the equipment necessary for in-line hockey and roller skating. Most importantly the skating surface is approved for official competitions and surrounded by a crash barrier.
The excellent conditions that this facility offers have lead to the hosting of the Under-12 National Championships, the Queen’s Cup, the National Women’s Cup and matches for the national league. Quite a spectacular addition to the other winter and mountain sports offered in the outstanding natural surroundings of the Canfranc valley!
The rink is open to the general public on Saturdays and there are specific timetables for the rest of the week. As well as the Canfranc In-line Rink in the municipal sports hall, this installation offers other facilities such as a court for practising five-a-side football/handball/volleyball/tennis and ping-pong, plus rooms for badminton, squash and weights, a tatami and sauna facilities.
